2010 WH Beauty Awards

Women's Health's Molly Nover-Baker and Alexis Farah

On May 12, Women’s Health magazine celebrated their annual Beauty Awards where 55 products—hair, face, body and makeup—were touted as the best of the best. The event took place at the Nest Loft, where guests tested the products, ate hors d’oeuvres and got manicures and pedicures.

“Our readers know what works in beauty and what does not. She does not buy a product based on trends; she is a serious shopper,” stated Molly Nover-Baker, Beauty Director, Women’s Health. “Our readers care about themselves on the inside as well as the outside. They are passionate about beauty,” she added.

Readers were able to join Women’s Health Editors and 45 experts in choosing the best beauty products. The magazine received an overwhelming response from readers—they only counted the first 10,000 votes—because they’re already so involved in other aspects of the magazine, such as fitness, fashion and food. “Our readers responded in droves,” said Ms. Nover-Baker. She shared that some of her favorite products are Aveeno Nourish+ Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, Patricia Wexler M.D. Dermatology Intensive Treatment and NARS Cadacques Multiple Tint.

Here are a couple of the reader’s picks:

Best Body Lotion

Olay Body Quench Advanced Healing Body Lotion ($10.00 at drugstores)

Best Eyeshadow

MAC Eyeshadow in Honey Lust ($14.50, maccosmetics.com)

Best Cleanser

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser ($11.00 at drugstores)
